Entertainment Weekly posted up a new teaser for the second half of Star Wars Rebels Season 2 (which returns next Wednesday, January 20th). It's pretty epic!
Commentary: From what we can see, the Rebels team will meet Princess Leia. And in the course of his Jedi training, Ezra seems to encounter Yoda and a wide variety of other force users, including someone called the Old Master. Entertainment Weekly is teasing that the Old Master is a known character (my monitor was too dark, I couldn't make out the scars they are talking about). Ezra also looks like he will be creeping a little close to the dark side, especially when he wants to know more about Ahsoka's former master, Anakin Skywalker. It also looks like at some point, Ahsoka is going to be finding out that Anakin became Darth Vader.
And we also get a shoutout to The Force Awakens when we see Ezra using a lightsaber very similar to Kylo Ren's. What does this all mean? I guess we all have to watch the rest of Rebels to find out. The trailer is very Ezra/Jedi heavy. I hope the show manages to keep some balance. I like the entire cast, and really don't want this to become the Ezra show. I want to know a lot more about Hera, Sabine, Zeb, and the most interesting man in the Star Wars universe, Kanan. I've been reading Kanan: The Last Padawan and A New Dawn. I love his character arc, and more Kanan is always a good thing!
